Canyon Trail Logistics is seeking an experienced HR Specialist to help support our growing team.
This is a Full Time, Monday through Friday, 40 hours/week position, with 80 hours of PTO annually and 4 paid holidays - Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year's Day and 4th of July.

This position will be located at the Amazon delivery station in Waynesboro, VA for the first six months.
After the completion of the first six months, upon demonstrating a full working knowledge of the position and employees, the position may become a hybrid position with certain days being worked at the station and others working locally from home.
Formal training and certification opportunities are available and encouraged for this position.
POSITION SUMMARY The HR Specialist is responsible for managing all company HR requirements to support 90
employees.
As a leadership team member reporting to the CEO, the HR specialist leads all aspects of the company's recruiting and onboarding efforts and manages the full suite of employee benefits.
The HR Specialist also serves as the liaison between employees and the company's payroll management partners and performs all payroll support duties.
The HR Specialist tracks and reports on a variety of metrics and KPIs, manages relationships with vendors and external partners, performs HR related invoice reconciliations and manages billing payments.
The HR Specialist also collaborates with the CEO and general manager to ensure the company's HR policies are aligned with the company's core values and support the strategic vision.
The HR Specialist will also collaborate with the leadership team to plan and execute employee engagement events and activities.

The company operates seven-days-a-week delivering tens of thousands of Amazon packages to Amazon customers throughout the greater Charlottesville metropolitan area and Shenandoah Valley.
OBJECTIVES Lead the company's recruiting mission to include posting jobs, communicating with all applicants, reviewing applications, scheduling interviews, hiring, and employee onboarding.
Manage employee administrative and disciplinary matters to include write-ups, terminations and offboarding.
Provide management and oversight of all employee benefits programs to include managing enrollments and renewals, workers compensation claims, ensuring program compliance, managing related vendor and external partner relationships and serving as the primary point of contact for program audits and requests for information from partner and government entities.
Serve as liaison between employees and the company's payroll management partners, monitor employee compliance with payroll policy and benefits plan requirements, approve timecards and punch requests, determine bonus calculations and forward court ordered garnishments and debt collections to the payroll management team.
Adhere to federal, state and local laws and regulations and company policies.
Coordinate with external professionals and partners to manage company program audits and HR related issues.
Perform vendor invoice reconciliations and manage all billing payments pertaining to employee benefit programs and hiring support functions.
Develop tools and systems to manage programs and tasks to ensure the company meets all federal and state compliance requirements and action item deadlines.
Serve as a subject matter expert of company employee management software, payroll systems software and Amazon Flex App delivery software and applications.
Serve as a subject matter expert on Amazon DSP program policies, directives and program change notices that relate to employees to ensure ongoing program compliance.
Serve as primary point of contact for responding to Amazon program policy audits as well as program audits and requests for information from external government entities.
Assemble and provide weekly reports to the CEO and leadership team that track a variety of employee-based company metrics and KPIs.
Plan, implement and manage all employee engagement events and initiatives to include team contests, awards, professional recognition, company parties, team meals, monthly newsletters, announcements and celebrations of milestone achievements.
Help accomplish the company's HR and organizational mission by completing related tasks as required.

Tech savvy with mobile device apps and desktop applications Patience when dealing with applicants and employees who are not tech savvy Well-developed soft skills with the ability to read a room and pick up on social cues Working knowledge of ADP or Paycom payroll systems Headcount forecasting and hiring planning Familiarity with recruiting platforms, applicant pipeline management, hiring, onboarding, terminations and offboarding Working knowledge of Virginia and federal employment laws pertaining to running a small business.
Knowledge and experience in health benefit plan management and workers compensation claim management Comfortable managing HR related vendor relationships Confident speaking publicly to employees EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor Degree in Human Resources Management or Business Administration, or at least 5 years HR management experience in a small to mid-sized business Experience assisting with running/managing payroll in a company of 80 to 100 employees Experience using online payroll platforms, managing/approving time-cards, communicating and enforcing payroll policy 3 years experience with recruiting, hiring, onboarding, terminating and offboarding Experience managing company employee benefits plans PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Prolonged sitting at a desk performing work on a computer Periodic lifting and moving of objects no greater than 50 LBS when assisting the team during morning loadout when necessary Ability to drive a cargo delivery van when necessary to assist fleet manager with repositioning vehicles to/from repair facilities and the Amazon station Job Type:

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
