The IT Operations Engineer/Sr. Engineer (Oracle Applications DBA) Operations Engineers responsibility and overall purpose is to manage business critical Oracle Database environments within the network ensuring performance, data integrity, security, retention, and recoverability of data. The ideal candidate will possess technical skills and experience with the installation, optimization, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Oracle Database Server 11g and newer.
All aspects of database administration including installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, migration, capacity planning, performance tuning, backup and recovery.
Provide additional support for various Oracle applications which utilize Oracle Database
Develop and implement technical procedures, standards, and security for Oracle databases.
Evaluating patch releases from Oracle and communicating constraints, issues and timelines for deployment.
Database and SQL optimization including performance tuning, query optimization, and index management.
Change control, supporting multiple environments such as development, test, and production
Work with application personnel on support incidents to resolve issues relating to Oracle Databases.
Participate on inter-department teams on the design/testing/implementation of Oracle Database servers, tables, stored procedures, triggers, and constraints.
Requirements
7
years experience with relational databases and/or administrator
5
years experience as an Oracle Database Administrator
2
years experience with Oracle 11g or newer
Oracle certifications preferred
Knowledge/Understating of TCP/IP configuration and troubleshooting
Working knowledge of Storage Area Networks
Experience with Linux operating systems preferred
Ability to work independently, or as part of a team
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
